Our Services

We support you in reaching your health goals using functional medicine and nutrition, in Fort Worth and virtually

What We Offer

One-on-One Sessions

An Evaluation is 90min, during which we will review history, lifestyle, symptoms, any past labs, and supplements. We’ll use all of that information to give you insight as to what’s going on with your body and what it needs to thrive. Everything you’ve experienced with your body will make sense! Then you’ll receive a customized food guide and treatment plan to address your root causes. This can be in-person at our Fort Worth office or virtual.

Follow-up sessions are 45min and most choose to do them virtually. In sessions, we’ll celebrate what goes well and troubleshoot what’s a struggle. You’ll also receive several new action items to progress you along your journey to your best self.

After your evaluation with your nutritionist, you may follow-up with our health coach to help you implement the treatment plan given, though staying with your nutritionist may be best for complex cases.

Still not sure if you’re ready, or if we’re a good fit? We also offer 15min complementary discovery calls to answer your questions. Click below to schedule.

FAQs

Lab results are not required at your initial evaluation, though they are helpful to upload to your portal if you are able. We can determine after your evaluation which labs are most appropriate based on your situation.

We have the ability to run just about any labs you would have done with a doctor, and a lot more. We recommend both conventional blood work, as well as functional urine, stool, and saliva testing. While these don’t go through insurance, self-pay rates often cost less than through a high deductible insurance plan, and you can typically pay with an HSA card.

Insurance doesn’t take us! Coverage for preventive care, improving wellness, or functional medicine is sparse at best, as insurance is meant for treating disease with medication. While we do not file with insurance, we can provide you with a receipt to submit for possible reimbursement or to go toward your deductible if you meet the requirements of your plan.

While the initial evaluation is often 1-2 months away, follow-ups will be every 2-4 weeks depending on how far along you are in your journey with us.

Functional medicine equips practitioners to find dysfunction in the body and help bring the body back to balance. This process improves health regardless of your diagnosis, though if you do have a condition we’re not familiar with, we will research anything specific we can add to your plan to further customize it.

Yes, there are no groups that are excluded. While most of our clients are middle-aged women, we do see all ages and genders.

You never “have to” do anything we suggest! If there’s advice that you struggle to implement, we will address your mindset to increase your natural desire to change, and find healthy substitutes to ensure you enjoy and continue looking forward to your food. We’re here to serve, inform, and empower, not judge or pressure you!

All parts of the treatment plan are customized to not only your health, but also your preferences and finances. There are no required labs, supplements, diets, or number of visits. Any recommendations will be clearly explained as to why they are being given so you can make the most informed decisions for your well-being. We value the least amount of intervention for the greatest impact on results.

As functional medicine specialists and nutritionists, we create wellness. We do not treat disease. Therefore, you should still have an established relationship with a PCP (primary care physician). We do not give prescriptions, nor instructions on taking medications. If any labs come back significantly outside the normal range, you’ll be asked to follow-up with your doctor.

Some states have laws requiring the provider to have graduated from a dietician program, which is highly influenced by the processed food and meat/dairy industries and approved by the government (provides highly politicized dietary advice rather than strictly evidence-based). These states only allow dieticians, and not nutritionists, to provide nutrition advice: AL, DE, GA, IL, IA, KS, MS, MO, MT, NE, OH, RI, SD, or TN. If you or someone you refer is not in one of these states, then they can be seen at our practice! States we can provide wellness advice but not labs or detailed protocols: FL, MD, MI, and NC. CA requires a physician’s referral to be eligible to receive nutrition advice.
